St. Timothy Beach occupies the heart of Parc régional des Iles-de-Saint-Timothée, a nature conservation area situated on two islands in the St. Lawrence River near Salaberry-de-Valleyfield. This sandy beach provides access to the Saint-Timothée basin, where swimmers enter calm waters in the middle of the St. Lawrence within a protected environment. The park’s island setting creates a unique atmosphere, with the river surrounding visitors while maintaining supervised swimming conditions. Access is via 240 rue Saint-Laurent, with paid parking available during the summer season. The park connects to the Soulanges bike path network via a river shuttle, making it easily accessible for cyclists. The park operates from June through early September, with lifeguard-supervised swimming during peak season.
The beach is part of a larger nature conservation area where water quality is known to be typically good. Excellent facilities include changing rooms, washrooms, a service pavilion directly on the beach, and a canteen-style restaurant offering food from 11 AM to 6 PM weekdays and until 7 PM on weekends.

Water quality monitoring is conducted by the City of Salaberry-de-Valleyfield at https://www.ville.valleyfield.qc.ca/plage, with weekly bacteriological testing throughout the summer season. Results are posted regularly, and swimming may be prohibited during storms or following heavy rainfall as a precautionary measure. The hotline 514-280-0789 provides current swimming status information. Beach closures can extend 24 to 72 hours following sewer or stormwater system overflows.
