Huntington Beach is located in Bay Village, Ohio, within the Cleveland Metroparks Huntington Reservation, offering access to Lake Erie on Cleveland’s west side. The 2,432-foot sandy beach features stone breakwaters that shelter the swimming area and help flatten the water near the shore while deterring watercraft. Access is via Lake Road with parking available at several lots throughout the 100-acre reservation, including near the historic water tower and at Porter Creek Drive. Facilities include restrooms, outdoor showers, the Noshery concessions building, picnic areas with grills and shelters, and the newly constructed Karen’s Way Play Space, a nature-based playground. The reservation also includes three miles of trails connecting the beach to forest and meadow habitats.
The beach is part of the Cleveland Metroparks system and provides access to organized swimming through O*H*I*O Masters Swim Club, the largest masters swim club in Ohio with approximately 300 members. The club offers pool workouts at multiple northeast Ohio locations and hosts open water events.
Water quality monitoring is managed by Cuyahoga County Board of Health with daily sampling throughout the year. Current water quality status is displayed on signage at the beach entrance. Lifeguards are on duty daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. during beach season. Swimming is restricted to designated areas marked by buoys, and flotation devices are prohibited except for U.S. Coast Guard approved life jackets. The beach offers views of downtown Cleveland skyline and is accessible via staircases from the upper reservation, with a ramp available at the eastern end for easier access.
