Huntington City Beach, Tower 9 (PCH and Huntington Street), 1/2 mile south of the Huntington Beach pier is the meeting point for a vigorous local open water swim community. The wide, sandy beach provides excellent water access. Early morning swimming recommended to avoid heavy surf activity and crowds. Year-round lifeguard service during daylight hours. Exercise caution with strong rip currents, especially during large swells, check tide and wave conditions with OpenWaterLog and locals.
Water quality data available through Heal the Bay’s Beach Report Card. The beach is accessible via OCTA bus route 1 along PCH. Facilities include outdoor showers and restrooms.
During summer months, arrive before 8AM to secure parking and avoid beach crowds.
