Acapulco Bay Guerrero Open Water Swimming

Large bay with numerous beaches, site of the famous Acapulco Bay 5k international Swim (known by various other names), crossing the bay from Playa Hamacas to Playa CICI, and the Maratón Internacional Acapulco (also 5K).

Access the primary swimming beaches (Playa Hamacas or CICI) via Costera Miguel Alemán. Paid parking available at both beaches. Bicycle access via the coastal road with bike racks at major beach entrances, though cycling can be challenging due to traffic. Local buses run frequently along Costera Miguel Alemán.

Best swimming before 8AM to avoid boat traffic and afternoon winds. Lifeguards present 8AM-6PM. Watch for boat traffic and occasional strong currents.
